Consolidation
Coordinating business growth
Druid was asked by an international restaurant
chain to address the store systems issues
involved in consolidating restaurant systems.
Druid designed an architecture and a migration
strategy for the chain to use in progressively
joining their different subsidiaries in a common
system. This "directionally correct"
strategy and architecture allowed the corporation
both to make appropriate hardware purchases for
new restaurants and to retrofit older ones. It
made it easier to move forward toward common
kitchens and bolt-on restaurant
concepts. Druid isolated the key issues and
designed a system architecture to accommodate
multiple niche business strategies. Druids
architecture guided the corporation in vendor
selection and even provided for hand-held devices
for use by the wait-staff.
